FAQ #1, for the anon who asked about it a while ago. Part I of a series, which means mORE TO COME. Like comics, I am so organized i SEEM DISORGANIZED???
THIS IS INCREDIBLE
HOLD UP: I’ve been reading the new Wolverine thinking it’s 616, but it’s been 1616 THE WHOLE TIME?
What Wolverine are you reading? There’s a couple of them out right now. Savage Wolverine, Wolverine Vol 5, Wolverine Max, and Wolverine and the X-Men. All those are 616. There was an Ultimates Comics Wolverine that was Ultimates, which is 1616, if you’re talking about that?
I don’t generally read Wolverine but all the “new” ones I know of are 616. There might be one that’s Ults, IDK.
Wolverine vol5, but Nick Fury is black. I was pretty sure it was 616.
OOOOOHHHH NO. That’s 616. That’s Nick Fury JUNIOR.
Yes, it’s fucking confusing, I’m so sorry DXXX
So basically, Nick Fury was a white guy in 616. But then they made him Sam Jackson in the 1616. But THEN after the Avengers MOVIE came out (which is MCU, which is generally more based on 1616 rather than 616 but borrows from both), Marvel NOW happened in the 616, and Nick Fury SENIOR, the white guy, kinda retired and Nick Fury JUNIOR, who yes, is his son and therefore just half-black but looks just like Nick Fury from the 1616, stepped up and is now kind of a new Nick Fury, though he is NOT director of SHIELD or anything, just some new kid working his way through the ranks.
FOR MORE INFORMATION: The mini-series “Battle Scars”, 6 issues, explains all of this.
I’m so sorry Marvel is such a pain in the ass DDXXX
